I had the pleasure of designing and planning Candice and Michael's Florida destination wedding here in the Treasure Coast earllier this year. After a full year of detailed planning, their outdoor ceremony and poolside reception took place at a private residence. Severe weather kept us from the cocktail hour entertainment that had been planned to take place on the sprawling riverfront lawn, but we were able to switch gears quickly and transform the poolside ceremony area into an elegant tropical setting for dining and dancing.
Here are some of my favorite pictures of the couple and of the event details after the storm had passed...
The bride's love of orchids was the inspiration for the wedding theme and this incredible cake created by A Piece of Cake by Elena. Hand-strung orchids and crystals were suspended over the cake, under its very own gazebo.
Orchids were everywhere, carrying out the green and yellow color scheme. These chair back swags were made of fresh ginger leaves and orchids by Harbour Bay Florist. Bubble vases were filled with orchids and floated in the pool. An led light in the base gave them a warm glow at night.
Instead of table numbers, tables were named after the places the couple had visited together.
The guests enjoyed an ice bar and luuge that dispensed their favorite drinks, and a dessert bar featuring a variety of decadent sweets provided by Chantals par Avion.
At the end of the night, guests launched lighted paper lanterns (provided by Traxx Entertainment) into the night sky to close the evening.
